Within the last 90 days Sophia reported having a discussion with Pre-adoptive parent friend about having a "sperm" baby, we discussed this conversation and inappropriateness of the content. We discussed having age appropriate conversations, and discussing matters life health, sexual education in an age appropriate way.
Needs:
Family: Youth will appropriately engage with their pre-adoptive mother and extended family, increasing positive interactions by developing effective communication skills, building rapport, and strengthening relationships. Objectives: 1. Participate in role-playing activities to practice initiating conversations, expressing feelings, and constructively responding to family members. 2. Participate in joint activities while on therapeutic leave with the pre-adoptive mother that promote bonding, such as shared hobbies or interests. Engage in weekly check-ins to allow the youth to express their thoughts and feelings in a supportive setting. 3.Participate in one on-site family therapy/activity session per month with the pre-adoptive mother, focusing on communication and connection through guided, structured activities like board games and puzzles. Criteria/Measurement: 1. Youth will attend a minimum of 4 role-playing sessions within this treatment review period. Improvement in initiating conversations, expressing feelings, and responding constructively will be evaluated. The clinician will provide qualitative feedback on the youth's engagement and progress after each session. 2. Youth will engage in a minimum of one joint activity per week with the pre-adoptive mother for at least 8 weeks while on therapeutic home passes. Both the mother and the youth will report improved bonding and communication. 3. Weekly check-ins will be documented for a total of at least 8 sessions, providing a consistent platform for self-expression. The youth will demonstrate increased openness in sharing thoughts and feelings.

It is crucial for Sophia to learn how to maintain a relationship with her pre-adoptive mom without the expectation of receiving tangible items; instead, the focus will be on mutual understanding and setting realistic expectations for their time together, especially during longer overnight stays. Continued support will be provided to Sophia to help her grasp the nature of authentic relationships, teaching her to appreciate interactions that are not transactional, thereby enhancing her overall relational skills.
