Problem related to parenting style

Problem:

The parenting style I grew up with was very strict. In my house, we were taught not to talk back, always respect our elders, and basically my only job was to do good in school. My parents believed that children should listen the first time and not question adults. There were clear expectations, especially about behavior and grades. If I didn't do well in school or if I was disrespectful, I would get in trouble. School was taken very seriously, and education was seen as the most important thing for my future.

This parenting style was helpful to me in some ways. It taught me discipline and responsibility at a young age. Because I knew my main focus was school, I stayed out of trouble and worked hard. I learned how to manage my time and take my education seriously. Even now, I push myself to do well because that mindset has always been in me. Respecting elders also helped me in professional settings because I know how to act appropriately and communicate respectfully.

However, this parenting style was also harmful in some ways. Since I was not really allowed to talk back or question things, I sometimes felt like my opinions didn't matter. I kept my feelings to myself because I didn't want to seem disrespectful. It made me scared to make mistakes, especially with school, because I felt like that was my only responsibility. Sometimes I felt a lot of pressure to be perfect. Overall, it helped me become responsible and focused, but it also made it harder for me to express myself openly.
