The outer layer, called the macrosystems, contains the attitudes and ideologies, values, laws, and customs of a particular culture or subculture. The chrono system comprises the largest and the most outward layer of the embedded circles. Brofenbrenner used the chronosystem to hold events that occur over a span of time.
