Instead of making changes and hoping they work, CMS tries out different ways to improve health care first. They look at what helps patients get better care, what lowers costs, and what makes the health care system work better overall. If something is successful, it can be used in Medicare, Medicaid, and other health care programs across the country (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services [CMS], 2025).
One thing I liked was that the focus isn't just on treating people when they get sick. The strategy also looks at preventing health problems, improving primary care, making health care more affordable, and reducing health disparities. I think that's important because a lot of people struggle to get the care they need for different reasons, and these programs are trying to find better ways to help.
I also like that CMS uses real results to decide what policies should move forward. It makes more sense to test new ideas before making them part of the health care system. That way, policymakers know what actually works instead of guessing. Overall, I think these websites show that health policy should be based on evidence, patient needs, and finding ways to improve care while keeping costs under control.
