Question: The patient, a 43 year old female, had a history of frequent episodes of severe chronic interstitial cystitis. Despite previous treatment, she has had no resolution of her symptoms. She was admitted for an endoscopic percutaneous cystectomy with a bilateral ureteral diversion. A direct ureteroileostomy was necessary due to the entire bladder being removed.
