Problem regarding human trafficking in the u.s.

Problem:

When it comes to human trafficking in the U.S., the data shows clearly that Texas is the state facing the most challenges. An image about sex trafficking in America shows that California, New York, Nevada, and Texas are the top four states that are dealing with this issue (APUS, 2024). However, in my opinion, Texas really stands out from the rest because of how big the issue of sex trafficking is and some gaps in the system that still allow human trafficking to happen. About 25% of the nation's trafficked individuals live in Texas (Romero et al., 2024). These numbers are huge, and they are hard to ignore. For example, numbers from 2016 show that around 79,000 young victims of sex trafficking were from Texas (Romero et al., 2024). Another issue is that Texas has many large cities, big ports, and a long border with Mexico, which makes it relatively easy for criminals to target victims. This is what really separates Texas from the other top states like California or New York. Those states have big cities and trafficking problems too, but Texas is the only one with an extensive land border with Mexico, which makes it both a destination and a major transit corridor for trafficking networks moving people deeper into the U.S. A lot of vulnerable people enter Texas every single year. According to Al-Tammemi and others (2023), irregular migrants are in extreme danger because of how easy it is for criminals to capture people at crowded places. Need Assignment Help?
