Problem: What is the focus of therapy for Z is a 35-year-old Caucasian female who is widowed and employed as a diplomat. During the family therapy KZ stated that She has diagnoses of ADHD and anxiety disorder. KZ has one son, WZ. She reports experiencing prolonged grief following the death of her husband last year, when their son was four years old. As a single mother, she experiences considerable stress associated with supporting her son and balancing professional obligations. In therapy, KZ describes persistent depressive and anxious moods, which she attributes to occupational pressures and the challenges of caring for her son, who has diagnoses of ADHD and autism. She expressed gratitude for the accommodations provided by her son's school. Last year, KZ was assigned by her employer to Indonesia; however, due to inadequate accommodations for her son in that country, she and her son returned to the United States. Her position now requires relocation to the Philippines this summer, which has increased her anxiety as she has no previous experience in that country. WZ is a 6-year-old boy diagnosed with ADHD and autism spectrum disorder. He is currently in the second grade. Wz was accompanied by his mother during sand Tray therapy.
