To ensure more Americans receive affordable health care coverage and high quality health care at the right time in the right place, we will need to work together, healthcare providers, employers and health insurers, pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies, national and local policy makers, government and consumers. The ideal outcome of the project would be to present SVO an analysis of the data in a report, while also having run one or two pilot tests for the stigma education program.

The curriculum may be further developed and fully implemented when it reaches that stage. The curriculum will be malleable, so it may be adapted as circumstances change. The issue of employment in conjunction with stigma can be addressed by the analysis of the beneficial resources cited by interviewees. This may be transferred into a resource guide for members of the community seeking employment.

However, UVM lacks the capacity at this time to integrate existing strengths within disciplines to develop comprehensive, multi-perspective solutions to pressing public health problems. This proposal recommends a unique structure to leverage campus-wide assets in public health research and education with investments in transdisciplinary capacity building, including the development of faculty capacity, new collaborations in research initiatives, and degree programs in public health.

In 2005, the Millennium Project Task Force issued its assessment of the prospects for achieving the goals for child and maternal health. The health system that should make interventions available, accessible, and utilized is in a crisis. Only a profound shift in how the global health and development community thinks about and addresses health systems can have the impact necessary to meet the Goals."
