After reading the lecture notes in module 3 and doing more research, post a two-paragraph comment in the discussion board per each of the following:
- What were some of the major developments in the history of U.S. elementary and secondary education? Why do you think that education in this country first started out with private schools? Why did people eventually demand public education?
- What were the dominant themes that made this educational system what it is today? What are some of the issues and controversies that characterize today's educational scene? Which of these issues and controversies are very important in your opinion and why? State your rationale.
