Assignment Task:
It's safe to say that great support for students comes from partnerships between school counselors, teachers, and families. But how do we build some of those important collaborations? One way is through the sharing of information, and this application allows for multiple ways to focus on those opportunities. First though, we need to determine the information that needs to be shared, through a needs assessment. Then, we can set a plan in motion by targeting specific information needs.
Please complete the following steps for this application requirement:

Consider what issues you'd like to focus on, where you can provide support to teachers and/or families as a school social worker: learning strategies for students with learning disabilities? Behavior interventions? Absenteeism?
In Google Forms, c r e ate a 3-5 question needs assessment, send out to teacher for feedback (imaginary responses)
Once you have feedback, it's time to determine the what (information needs), the who (teachers, families) and the how (presentation, tip sheets, etc).
Create informative packet to share information about the topic you chose, according to the feedback you received. You can access more resources within the Extra Edge sections throughout the course.
Possibly supports with students with behaviour concerns
For example:
Teachers are in need of strategies to support students with learning challenges. You would create a presentation about some of those general supports, and develop specific tip sheets focused on different learning challenges (perhaps connecting to specific students) as a reference for teachers as they continue to work with students with learning challenges.
