How might you share your voice and advocate

Problem: How do your culture, background, and/or understanding of your own experience impact your thinking about one of these critical theories? How might you share your voice and advocate? How might you inquire and listen to others with backgrounds different from your own? Critical race theory says that racism lives in institutions like education, healthcare, housing and the laws. In 1978, I went to a great school so I thought. I had friends of every race and believed we were friends. I remember myself and many other children who were considered black or other were bused to another school because it was said the school was over capacity. They called it progress not necessarily for us but it was supposed to be beneficial for everyone (utilitarianism). It was a system that made unequal outcomes even if they wanted our parents to believe there was no ilI intent. I did not realize none of my other friends of other races were there with me until we were getting off the buses. I had many questions and none of the teachers had answers. My parents had the answers and they were not nice. My father was military and he taught me what I needed to know about racism. I had my first bought with it in 1975, I was in second grade, my father made it very clear that I needed to know all that I could understand at that age along with respect, consideration, patience, love, and so much more. I did not understand the impact of racism until I was in high school and thankful my father was there to help me. Need Assignment Help?
