Oxygen effect:
The oxygen effect may play a role in the recurrence of cancer .The cell near the center of a large tumor have a poor blood supply and thus a poor oxygen supply .When the tumor is irradiated the (healthy ) cancer cell with a good blood supply are killed and many of the more poorly oxygenated radio resistant tumor cell remain a live . These cells many later divided and permit the tumor to re-grow
