1. Propped up position. 
2. Monitor signs and symptoms and laboratory test results documenting myocarditis. 
3. Monitor adequacy of cardiac output and hemodynamic status BP, pulse, heart rate, peripheral perfusion, capillary filling, urine output and level of consciousness. 
4. Administer oxygen. 
5. Administer prescribed medications, assess the patient's response and notify the physician. 
6. Assess for any toxic of side effects of the medicines administered and notify. 
7. Low sodium easily digestible diet. 
8. Complete bed rest, restricted activities. 
9. Keep emergency equipment at hand ready to use. 
10. Maintain quit environment. 
11. Explain to patient and family about the measures taken and the progress of patient. 
12. Practice universal precaution for infection control. 
13. Majority of individuals with myocarditis recover spontaneously. Occasionally, it progress into chronic dilated cardiomyopathy.
