Temperature Relations in Animals
The animal's life is related to the temperature of the environment. Basically there are two types of animals
- The animals whose body temperature changes with that of the environment, and
- The animals who maintain their body temperature constant, independent of the environment.
In this you will learn the effect of temperature on animals, their tolerance to the heat and cold, their behavioural and physiological adaptations to escape the rigors of extreme temperatures and also about regulatory mechanisms that operate in maintaining the body temperature.
