Newt gingrich racial statements about obama

There is the other race issue moving to the front of the media. Newt Gingrich has continued to use a word for Obama that is, The Food Stamp President in his GOP debates. A year and a half ago - Eric Holder the US Atty General commented that Americans were cowards regarding facing the race question which I then sent to my students for description.

Last semester it was the Sen. Reid Brouhaha over his noting Obama was a light skinned black who did not talk Negro speech. FoxNew's Sean Hannity pillaged Reid for that statement - noting that he and his conservative friends were beyond the "race thing".

MSNBC had an entire series on MLK Day noting how Obama's experience as President has been marked by what many people see as personal attacks which might in fact have a basis in an underlying racist element in the USA. The Gifford shooting and comments afterwards by various police and so on.... seemed to suggest Arizona was one of the most racist states in the USA and that the shooting was linked to an effort by right-wingers to scapegoat Latinos and their supporters.

What do you think regarding Gingrich's statement about Obama being a Food Stamp President? How about Holder's, Reid's and Hannity's remarks? What do you think about charges that the USA harbors a multitude of closet racists?
