Multiculturalism:

Purpose: The purpose of the annotated bibliography is to give you time to engage deeply with your sources. You’re not just looking for quotations to include in your paper. You are figuring out what kind of conversation has been going on about your topic and deciding out whose perspectives are most trustworthy and what you should believe about the social institution you’ve chosen to study. Through this assignment you will practice crucial critical reading skills that will serve you well in college and for the rest of your life.

Each annotation will have five parts. Use the questions below to help you generate ideas for parts three through five, but don’t simply list answers to the questions. Use paragraphs, except for the MLA citation. Here are the required parts for each annotation:

1. MLA citation

2. Summary of article’s thesis, claims, reasons, and evidence.

3. Summary of rhetorical context of the article. (See questions below.)
