Mode
Mode is the value of the observation which occurs with the greatest frequency and thus it is the most fashionable value, Mode has been derived from French word La mode which means fashion ,It is defined as the value that occurs most frequently statistical distribution. The modal item thus is the mode representative or most typical item in a distribution ,In the words of Dr, A. L. Boddington, Mode may be defined as the pre dominant kind type or size of item or the position of greatest density.
Zesek has defined it as mode the value occurring most frequently in series of items and around which the other items are distributed most densely.
Croxton and Cowden say the mode of a distribution is the value of point around which the items tend to be most heavily concentrated,
In the words of Ya Lun Chua, the mode is that value of a series which appears most frequently than any other.
The mode can be located in an individual observation in may one of the three ways:
(1) By inspection.
(2) By converting individual observation in discrete variable..
(3) By empirical relationship between Mean, Media and Mode.
