Part 1

Student- peer feedback- this type of learning is usually for a written or oral presentation that allows for on the spot feedback from peers. The type of learning outcome would be comprehensive, analysis and evaluation. The student would need to have a deep understanding of the information they are going to be delivering as well as partaking in the evaluation and analysis from their peers in order to gain more insight information.

Project-based learning- this type of learning can be individual or group centered in order for students to showcase information they have gathered in order to answer a question or support a statement. The learning outcomes will be, knowledge but only focused on the projects information, comprehension, application. analysis, synthesis, evaluation. Each component would address areas needed in order to complete the project based learning.

The case method- this type of learning requires a certain problem to be presented and allowing students to search for answers that support the case in many ways. The learning outcomes will be, application, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and cognitive development. Cognitive development is a huge part of the solution to the problem in this type of learning. Displaying a way to answer a question or solve a problem in real time by using reasoning and critical thinking.

Part 2

Different methods of teaching can be more or less effective depending on the learning outcomes being addressed. As educators, we rarely stick to one method of teaching as we know that course outcomes require many different methods of presentation and implementation for success by our students. Chapter Eleven in your text discusses the many different methods that can be used depending on the outcomes that are wished to be achieved. Pick three different methods and discuss the types of outcomes that would most likely be gained from each method of teaching.

Interactive lecture: This type of lectures provide teachers with a strategic format to create and design lectures that offer more content knowledge in a manner that allows all student to collaborate and share ideas and engage together. Some examples are think-pair-share exercise and small-group discussion. Interactive lectures lead to an increase in student engagement and deepen students comprehension.

Service-learning with reflection: Students learning from the experience of performing community service and systematically reflecting on it. Majority of people learning by doing. The reflection aspect of Service-learning is what links the action and the learning. This type of teaching causes the student to direct their attention to the new interpretations that the service offers. Students will begin to evaluate the relevance of their experience from the service and apply what they learned to real-life problems and situations.

Writing and speaking exercises: As students begin to engage in writing, permits students to translate their ideas and thoughts down on paper. The speaking process helps the students learn the material, clarify their thinking. The students will be able to not only identify clue words but as they are able to explain their reasoning, getting them to a level of becoming more responsible in their learning process. The students will gain a deeper sense of comprehension.
