Metallic aluminum easily reacts with strong acids such as HCL, to produce a salt solution and hydrogen gas. In an experiemtnt, hydrogen gas produced from a reaction between a piece of aluminum and HCL is collected over water and found to have a volume of 3.75 Liters at 25 degrees Celsius.
