Meningocele
In this the meninges protrude through the opening in the vertebrae generally in the lower back. The sac contains meninges and cerebrospinal fluid.
The sac may be covered by a thin transparent membrane or it may be completely covered by skin. There is no neurologic defect and the spinal cord is not involved
