A mass of 0.427 kg is joined to a spring having a spring constant of around 184.2 N/m and suspend at rest. The spring suspend from a piston. The piston then moves up and down, driven through a force given by (27.0 N) cos [(17.1 Hz)t].

(i) Find out the maximum displacement from its equilibrium position which the mass can reach?

(ii) Determine the maximum speed which the mass can accomplish in this motion?
