Many people would argue that English has changed since they were children. In a sense, this is true both in terms of grammar and speech. Back in the 1940's for example, actors took on something called a Transatlantic accent which gave their voices a very unique tone. As late as the 1980's elementary students learned to dissect sentences using visual sentence diagrams. We already discussed the changing use of whom. This article addresses a few more subtle changes that have taken place in recent years.
