Magnitude of gravitational field

Question 1: On the surface of Planet Y, which has a mass of 4.83 x 1024 kg, an object has a weight of 50.0 N and a mass of 30.0 kg. Find out the radius of this planet?

Question 2: Determine the gravitational field strength 1.27 x 107 m above the earth’s surface?

Question 3: Planet B has a mass of 4.00 x 1022 kg and a radius of 6.0 x 105 m. Find out the gravitational field strength on the surface of planet B?

Question 4: Our solar system is in the Milky Way Galaxy. The closest galaxy is Andromeda, a distance of 2 x 1022 m away. The masses of the Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxies are respectively, 7 x 1041 kg and 6 x 1041 kg. Treat the galaxies like particles and compute the magnitude of the gravitational force between them.

Question 5: Three objects are positioned all along a straight line. From left to right their masses are 181, 70.0 and 405 kg. The 70 kg mass is 0.310 m from the 181 kg object, and 0.460 m from the 405 kg object. Determine the net gravitational force acting on the 181 kg object?

Question 6: The drawing at right (not to scale) displays one alignment of the sun, earth and moon. The gravitational force F SM that the sun exerts on the moon is perpendicular to the force F EM which the earth exerts on the moon. The masses are: mass of the sun = 1.99 x 1030 kg, mass of earth = 5.98 x 1024 kg, mass of moon = 7.35 x 1022 kg. The distances shown are: r SM = 1.50 x 1011 m and rEM = 3.85 x 108 m. Find out the magnitude of the total gravitational force on the moon.
