Luminous flux and LASER:
The luminous flux of a light source is measured in the units of LUMEN (lm). Lumen (lm) is the amount of light emitted per second by uniform (point) source of one candela with in a cone of unit solid angle.
A source having an illuminating power of 1 candela is said to be 1 candle power. A light source is said to be of unit illuminating power or unit luminous intensity if it radiates a flux of 1 lumen through a unit solid angle.
