ionization energy of groupwhy does ionization

Ionization energy of group:

Why does Ionization energy of group IIA elements decrease from Be to Ra?

A. As the atomic size increases from Be to Ra, the attraction between the nucleus and the outermost electron decreases. Hence it is easier to remove the electron from the outermost shell as we go down. This regulates in a decreasing trend in the Ionization Energy as we go down from Be to Ra.
