Locate a peer-reviewed empirical research article

Problem:

In general terms, we could divide academic articles into two broad categories (there are probably many more): empirical research papers and review articles. An empirical research paper describes original research that has been conducted in the study (i.e., the researchers are publishing their findings for the first time). A review article describes many published research studies on a particular topic. For this task, you will review an empirical research paper.

Locate a peer-reviewed empirical research article related to the etiology or treatment of one of the substance use disorders or sexual dysfunctions addressed in the textbook (Butcher, Mineka, & Hooley, 2017).

Complete a three- to four-page document (not including the cover page and reference pages) summarizing the research article.

Here are some points to discuss in your review:

Explain the research question (what the researchers hope to answer).

Describe the study (where they obtained their sample, how they conducted the research).

Describe the research findings. Do you have confidence in the researchers' findings (i.e., were there critical flaws in the study design, confounding questions that could have occurred in the study)? Need Assignment Help?

Does the study generalize to other people who were not the subject of the research (e.g., a study of college students that generalizes to everyone, studies in the United States that apply to other cultures)?

What does the study mean in the bigger picture, and how does it apply to society at large (i.e., how does it affect society as a whole)?

Your work must include two additional pages: a title page and a references page.

Please cite all your sources.
