Short-Answer Essays
Write three short essay from the questions below. Each essay must include an introduction, body, and conclusion, and address all relevant parts of each question. Make sure to cite any references you use. Proper citation format for a reference includes the name(s) of the author(s), the title of the work, the date of the publication, and the page number. Essay Questions
1. Jessica Fernandez, a manager at Subway, must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimal numbers on a regular basis. List and explain at least three ways she uses decimal numbers in her job at Subway. Include the definition of a decimal number in your answer.
2. Kara Oaks, who manages the cabinetry department at Home Depot, uses fractions to help customers that want to remodel their kitchens. List at least three components of quality that are affected by exact measurements. Explain fractions and describe how you use fractions in your business and personal life.
3. What is a percent? List and explain at least three ways you currently use percents (or will use them) for work, shopping, recreation, or perhaps even investing for the future.
