James and stephen i think that is a wonderful point

James and Stephen, I think that is a wonderful point, especially about compliance for this coworker! This really begs the question of how much we should allow someone to realize their own futures, rather than having us control its outcome. But, what happens when their present behavior impacts us directly? Although we often side with our employers, does it makes sense that the organization would try to give this person a second chance, and try to improve his or her work? At what point do we need to acknowledge that employees are doing more harm than good in a situation such as this?
