Jackson Coleman Theory: During accommodation the ciliary muscle contraction causes an anterior thrust of the vitreous. This vitreous thrust presses on the lens and causes it to change shape.

Fischer Theory: Fischer believed that the lens substance is elastic and interplay of the lens substance and elasticity of the capsule determines the shape of the lens.
