Stakeholder Memo: Each of you should turn in an individual stakeholder analysis, which should be between 250-500 words in length.

This stakeholder analysis should be written in the form of a backgrounder for a decision maker in the venue where your pending policy is being debated (e.g., for a judge in a pending court case, or a Parliamentarian considering a particular law). It should be designed to provide information to the policymaker about the context of the organization, its interest in the policy that you are focusing on, and the kinds of strategies that it might use (particularly the context of its other work.) It should include the following information:

1) the organization's interests and goals;

2) the organization's interest in the pending policy-what does it stand to gain or lose if the bill is passed? (Even if they have not articulated anything on the policy, what do you think their position would be, and why?);

3) the kinds of tactics the stakeholder uses in engaging with the political environment;

4) the kinds of venues it usually operates in;

5) its history of failure or success;

6) with whom does it usually coalesce?

7) Is it an insider or an outsider?

8) What resources does it have, in terms of dollars, membership, expertise, existing coalitions, etc?
