Problem: Regarding the issue of birth order and personality is the only child. The popular conception is that these children tend to be self-centered and indulged. Interestingly, researchers paint a picture of only children as achievement oriented and as having desirable personalities, especially in comparison with later born children and children from large families (Falbo & Poston, 1993). What do you think about this? What has been your experience with the personalities of only children?
