In a therapy/support group for college students who have been diagnosed with any sort of mental illness, a student discloses that she's been using psychiatric medication, and that it's been a big decision and big support for her. After she made this disclosure, the group really rallied around her to express that they cared that she had made that disclosure and then thanked her for sharing such private and personal information with them.
For example: one example is of mutual aid from the example would be universality. Meaning The way the group kind of came together, the way the group normalized her-- this client's-- this group member's experiences, so that she could feel better about the choices she was making, and they were being really supportive of her taking care of herself.
