Performance management has come from many different backgrounds and evolved over the years. Notable management theorists like Taylor, Drucker, Bennis, and McGregor all helped formulate some of the parts that go into an effective performance management system. Pick one of the early pioneers in the science of management and analyze what you liked or disliked about their theory.
Aguinis lists 14 characteristics of an effective performance management system. Pick two of them and apply how they are utilized (or not) in your current organization (it can also be a past organization if needed).
