From his infant and toddler teachers, we learn that Sebastian was actually ahead of the game developmentally. He hit milestones early. Sebastian talked at a young age and was even reading a little by age two. He was described as bright and happy but his infant and toddler teacher also noticed he barely slept and always seemed "on." His teachers state Sebastian did not seem fussy but they note he was constantly alert and moving.
Now in Pre-K, those differences stand out more. Sebastian is much more active than the other kids and he has a hard time sitting still. Sebastian is always bouncing or walking around. When he's excited or really focused, he flaps his arms and legs. He's also very sensitive to sounds and textures and can seem anxious.
His strengths are definitely his intelligence, strong language skills, curiosity, and ability to focus. My concerns would be his constant movement, sensory sensitivities, anxiety, sleep issues, and repetitive movements. Even though he's academically advanced, these behaviors could point to something like ADHD, autism, or sensory processing challenges. Since it's affecting how he functions in class, it makes sense for him to be evaluated to see if he qualifies for extra support.
