This reading is the first two chapters from The Analects of Confucius. Here are some words you need to understand:

filial piety = respect for one's family and ancestors
The Way = Dao (Tao)
the rituals = li = a code of propriety with a disciplined way of proper conduct a gentleman = a person (male or female) of talent and virtue, the ideal person

How does the wisdom of the Analects seem similar to/different from the wisdom of the Dao de Jing?
