Problem
During a recent medical visit, Valencia's physician ordered an IV of labetalol for her very high blood pressure. The nurse did not have access to the prescribed drug and substituted fenoldopam without first checking with the physician. Although there was no indication of drug allergies in Valencia's medical record, she had an immediate negative reaction to the medication. Is the nurse or physician negligent or liable for the issue?
