Given my problem space, methodology, and research questions, there are several considerations I still need to address in designing my study, I need to refine my interview protocol to include open-ended questions that invite participants to reflect on how their life experience have shaped their approach to innovation and decision-making within their nonprofit organizations. I must also remain reflective about my positionally as a researcher to ensure participant narrative are interpreted authentically.
My potential sample will consist of approximately 10 to 20 women entrepreneurs who founded or currently lead nonprofit organizations in the United States, selected through purposeful sampling to ensure participants have direct involvement in innovation-related decision-making.
Data will be collected through semi-structured, in depth interviews lasting approximately 60 to 90 minutes, audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim. Member checking will be used to validate narrative interpretations with participants.
Ethically, I must ensure informed consent, protect participant confidentiality through pseudonyms, and represent participant narrative with care and accuracy. IRB approval will be obtained prior to data collection. Regarding feasibility, recruiting nonprofit leaders within a reasonable timeline presents a challenge, so I will utilize professional networks, nonprofits associations, and snowball sampling to access qualified participants while remaining respectful of their time constraints.
