Indian Standard Codes
All of the major countries like India, UK, USA, and Australia have their own standards for material standards, design procedures, testing standards, and for finished products. India followed British standards, before independence, but after independence it was felt there is need to prepare the standards to meet the Indian environment. Therefore Indian Standard Institution was established, which is known as Bureau of Indian Standards now. It has prepared more than 4000 standards and then new standard codes are brought out now.
