In traveling to the moon astronauts aboard the

In traveling to the Moon, astronauts aboard the Apllospacecraft put themselves into a slow rotation to dsitribute theSun’s energy evenly. At the start of their trip, theyaccelerated from no rotation to 1 revolution per minute during a12- min time interval. We can approximate the spacecraft as acylinder with mass 50 (metric) tons and a diameter of 8.5m. Calculate (a) the angular acceleration, (b) the torque needed toproduce such an acceleration, and (c) the magnitude of the linearacceleration of a point on the skin of the ship 5 min after itstarted accelerating.
