There are many dangers in police work, from being injured in traffic accidents, to be hurt attempting to arrest a subject, and to the extreme of being murdered in the line of duty. This week you need to go to the Officer Down Memorial Page web page and search for an officer feloniously killed in the line of duty in the last five years. You will need to select two officers from different states. For the sake of variety, please select an officers killed during your birth month.
Once you have selected your officers, please search the websites of the local newspaper or television stations for the area where the officer was killed for articles on the incident. In one to two pages, summarize both incidents. Include information on the suspects, if available, and his/her disposition. Is there any information on how these offenses could have been avoided?
