Problem:
To explore the research question, "How does the implementation of body-worn cameras by police departments affect the number of reported use-of-force incidents?" A quasi-experimental design can be employed, utilizing a pre-test/post-test approach to compare rates of reported use-of-force incidents before and after the implementation of body-worn cameras (BWCs). Data on reported incidents can be collected from local police department records and national datasets such as the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program and the Bureau of Justice Statistics, which provide comprehensive data on law enforcement activities.
