Examine the present situation in your area of work in relation to the area of care chosen. Avoid mentioning Health Board’s name.
The current evidence for the aspect of care chosen.
Identify the deficits in care in your area in light of evidence and strategies.
You need to present a convincing argument for changes in practice.
Highlight what you want to change and how you are proposing to implement the change. Consider your strategies. Do you need managerial support? Do you need resources, e.g. clerical help? Are you going to be the change agent (the person who pushes the change through) if so what is your role? Can you get others to help?
Consider what problems you may encounter and how you can overcome them e.g. Staff resistance, lack of time, lack of interest, lack of resources – education of staff and managerial support may overcome difficulties.
Conclusion. Summarise what you have examined/critically analysed and draw your conclusions and recommendations.
Please look at the guidance within practice, there is a pathway and review any European guidance with regard to nursing care.Ensure your focus is nursing care and not medical care and have a focus of the care of patient and post procedure you need to look at what goes on practice and how this can be improved and you can look at NICE guidance.
