Question: Write 4,000 words identifying a model of schooling with which you are familiar and critiquing it from the perspective of your developing educational aims, values, beliefs and philosophy the assignment guidelines are as follows:
Introduction: tell the reader what your assignment does and why.
My philosophy, aims and values for education: Argue what you think are the most important aims or values for education and say why. You will need to explain why with evidence from the literature, not just using your own experience - this is an argument for your point of view.
The school system I am familiar with: tell the reader - but it is the system not the particular school.
How this system promotes my philosophy, aims and values (and when it does not): You cannot tell the reader everything about a system, so choose some key ideas and examples which highlight how the aims and values of the system align with yours, and where there are differences.
Conclusion: return to the key issues outlined in your introduction and summarise what you have discussed in your commentary. It is useful to propose, in your introduction, some key questions/issues that you will examine and explore (with supporting evidence from the literature) - you can respond to these in your conclusion.
