How can the use of technology help improve healthcare quality for a cardiac patients in terms of the following keys areas:
i. Revenue cycle management
ii. Care management
iii. Rules engines and decision support,
iv. Analytics and business intelligence,
v. Systems for exchanging information, and
vi. Technologies that support patient engagement.
Identify systems or technologies that help each of these areas. Plan for post discharge support across various care teams in the hospital. Plan for value based payments and other industry recognized quality metrics (HEDIS measures or CMS defined measures). Other areas to consider in include the role of social determinants of health and planning for potential readmission penalties.
