Identify areas of improvement that you think create pay-off

Problem: Work-Life Balance Action Experiment

Because "management is a contact sport" this assignment is designed for you to actively practice improved self-management by proposing an action plan, that you can carry out for the remainder of the semester, designed to learn more about how to achieve better work-balance. This problem deliberately gives you quite a bit of freedom about what you do in order to accommodate your specifics needs and goals.

The key parameters of the assignment are that you:

i. Identify areas of improvement that you think will create pay-off and describe why this is so. If you can connect this to course topics all the better.

ii. Select activities that are achievable, that are neither too easy nor too hard and not things that you are already doing.

iii. Come up with concrete ways to chart and assess your progress

Students may choose actions related to setting better boundaries (minimizing distractions, improving communication with managers/coworkers/teammates) enhancing personal well-being through improved self-care, improving personal organization, improved strategies for communication or handling conflict. These are just examples. Other ideas are also possible.
