Health leaders have the task of ensuring there are appropriate resources to deliver the needs of patients who sustain life-altering injuries. Imagine you are serving in your dream role within a health organization whether it is the Executive Director of Rehab Services, a Chief Nursing Officer, an HR Director, or an Infectious Disease Researcher.
Identify the top deadly and preventable injury in your region. The CDC, AACS, and National Safety Council are three resources that may help you identify this, and you are encouraged to identify other references. Discuss the physical and financial impacts an injury like this has on a patient, the community, the healthcare system, and especially in healthcare organizations. Discuss the workforce needed to care for this patient and use the descriptive and behavioral epidemiology principles you have learned in this course. Discuss the who, what, and when rates, incidence, and prevalence. Identify potential or actual problems within the delivery of care to this population. Identify an area in which you could resolve conflict through collaborative measures. What quality measures and assessments should you employ or track for the best outcomes? Why would these recommendations be practical?
