Problem:
With this case study, I learned how to identify and diagnose ADHD symptoms and differentiate between the inattentive, hyperactive, and combined subtypes. I diagnosed the patient as predominantly inattentive because she met the full criteria for inattentive symptoms needing to present with at least six of the inattentive symptoms. While she did present with some hyperactive symptoms, she did not meet the full criteria as she only presented with two hyperactive symptoms: restlessness and difficulty remaining seated.
