Problem
Identify an organization of interest to you, but try to pick one that no one else in the class is likely to pick, so please avoid "obvious" organizations such as Apple, Disney, Alphabet (i.e.,Google), Nike, Walmart, Target, Amazon, Netflix, Tesla, and the like. Go online and find the most recent employee diversity report for the organization (not their diversity website, but their diversity report - it will likely be a nicely produced PDF with images, tables, and narratives). If you cannot find a diversity report, you must select another organization. The report must be cited in your post. As you read the diversity report, as well as the organization's diversity webpage, press releases (if available) about the organization's diversity efforts, and news articles written about the company, determine the degree to which the efforts fit with the best practices outlined in the diversity management section of Chapter 2. The main goal of the post is not to simply recap the organization's diversity program, but to critique how the diversity efforts match up against the best practices identified in Chapter 2. A second goal is to report on the effectiveness of these efforts, particularly relative to the evaluation criteria specified in the book. Remember, you are looking at employee diversity, so do not write about supplier diversity, customer diversity, etc. Constructive criticism of the organization is permitted, so do not think your critique must be positive.
