The System/Information Landscape for Buying On-line

There is no easy way to find the answer to this question, and in fact, I would be surprised if you could find anything to cite as a resource, this paper is more about your ability to analyze a "black box" process or system. You will be graded more on your creative understanding than your book knowledge of the question. Assume you are a buyer on Amazon.com. I want you to trace the buying process for your interaction with Amazon all the way until the product arrives at your house/business. Take into consideration each step and each process that Amazon has to perform to deliver the right product to the right person at the right place. For each step, include what information is needed. Some of the information will come from the buyer, and some from Amazon and some might comes from third-party (outside partners). Assume that Amazon does not make anything, they are a reseller of other people's products. There are at LEAST five different steps, and if you got granular, I could think of another five more. There are at least two other parties outside you/buyer and Amazon that would need to be involved. Again, there is no wrong answer, but I will reward those that spend time thinking about the process and those that skim the surface will be appropriately "awarded" points. You can ask follow-up questions but do in the "Thought-Provoking" discussion posts so that everyone can see the questions and the answers. I might be vague in what I am looking for, but that is because I want you to think about, not read the answer from other sources. There is no word count or page requirement. Just answer the question.
