I mentioned that the best method to use to research this topic is a case study, this information will help be able to answer the amount of participants that should be included in the study. According to Walker (2016) a case study should have a minimum of 10 participants, but because studies have attrition the researcher should start with a number around 20. The reason for the number being so low is the amount of time that interviews take with the participants. According to Walker (2016) the researcher would have to conduct an interview that is a minimum of thirty minutes, and from all the interviews there should be at least 12 pages single spaced of transcription. Not to mention that this is just one form of data and when conducting a case study there should be at least three sources of data that can be triangulated and allow for an in depth analysis of the phenomenon, with hopes of reaching saturation. The number of participants needs to be manageable in order for the research to be able to find relevant themes within the data to report an outcome to the phenomenon.
